MPMAG Inc. is a legal and construction surveying firm located in the Laurentians. It offers all the surveying services associated with land development and real estate transactions, specialising in lot subdivision plans and condominiums. Its construction surveying division offers all the services required for road or building construction sites, be they required by a residential client, a land developer or a general contractor.




Its sister company, CGL Technologies Inc., specialises in geodetic systems and offers a variety of professional services such as cartography, photogrammetry, cadastral operations for renovated territories and the management and development of geographic information systems.

Founder of MPMAG in 1980, Christian Murray is an expert in condominium surveys, lot subdivision plans and the interpretation of municipal by-laws. Since the purchase of the Mont-Tremblant Ski Resort by Intrawest in 1991 he has been a prominent figure in that development. Almost all the surveying has passed though his hands. Be it for the sale and finance of the entire project, the development of certain sections such as the Domaine de la Foret, the Diable and Geant golf courses, or a number of residential and commercial condominiums such as the Sommet des Neige and the Johannsen-Deslaurier, he has been a leader.

Member of the Order of Quebec Land Surveyors since 1980 Mr. Murray has issued over 12000 minuted documents. He has been a member of the executive committee of his professional order as well as a part of the professional inspection, account arbitration and examinations committees. He has also been a mentor for the internship program.

Mr. Murray was the president of the chamber of commerce of St-Jovite and then of Mont-Tremblant in 1985, 2000 and 2004. During his 2 last terms it was elected Chamber of Commerce of the year in Quebec. His involvement in the community is remarkable: Member of the Richelieu, Optimists and Rotary clubs - over the years he has been in turn president of the day camp, and of the baseball and minor hockey leagues of the community.


Jacques Patenaude, QLS;

Associated since 1999, Jacques Patenaude has a solid expertise in GPS, urban development, lot subdivision projects, special projects and original surveys of vacation (cottage) lots and public lands.

Member of the Order of Quebec Land Surveyors since 1983 he was appointed president of the Order for 2008-2009.

From 1989 to 1998 he was an associate in the firm Sullivan & Patenaude in Valleyfield.

From 1981 to 1989 he was secretary-treasurer of the MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent.

Mr. Patenaude has an excellent record at the heart of the business community and has devoted time to many Boards of Directors (Valleyfield Regatta, CLSC, CHSLD, and CH) as well as having a knowledge of municipal affairs. For many years he held the office of secretary-treasurer and head of urban planning and evaluation of an MRC.


Dany Maltais, QLS;

Associated since 2001, Dany Maltais is an expert in lot subdivision plans, condominiums and special function surveys on the residential as well as on the commercial level.

Member of the Order of Quebec Land Surveyors since 1990.

From 1990 to 1997 he was employed by his associate Christian Murray.

From 1997 to 1999 he worked for surveyors Gendron Lefebvre and associates in Laval. There he had the opportunity to act as surveyor for the firm Tecsult and to have the survey department certified ISO 9001. He lead several special projects including Place du Parc in Montreal.

Form 1999 to 2001 Mr. Maltais opened his own office in the Mont-Tremblant region.

Well known in the community, he has been a member of the executive committee of the Optimists club, president of the Youth Soccer Club (400 players) and is a member of BNI.


Luc Bilodeau, technician;

Associated since 2009 Mr. Bilodeau is a specialist in construction and technical surveys. Having a diploma in geodetic technique since 1981, he is a member of the order of professional technologists of Quebec. Until 1994, he worked for Christian Murray as his principal technician.

In 1994 he started his own road and building technical survey company, Arpentech des Laurentides. Mr. Bilodeau and his team hold all the RBQ and CCQ licenses necessary for work on construction sites.

Many engineering firms, general and excavation contractors and formwork contractors in the upper and lower laurentians count on Arpentech des Laurentides for their site surveys.


Two junior associates:
Simon Jean, QLS;

Associated since 2009, Simon Jean specialises in lot subdivision plans and certificates of location.

Having gained experience in public domain issues at the Minister of Transport and the Direction de l’Enregistrement Cadastral (DEC), Mr. Jean was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in 2003 and became a member of the Order of Quebec Land Surveyors in 2005.

Since 2003 he has established himself in the Mont-Tremblant region and contributes to the community by being the basketball coach at the high school.


Gabriel Lapointe, QLS;

Associated since 2009, Gabriel Lapointe has been a member of the Order of Quebec Land Surveyors since 2005.

A native of the region, Mr. Lapointe has an excellent knowledge of the territory and of the neighbouring communities. Having graduated from Laval University in 2004 he worked for Jean-Marc Clément QLS until 2007 at which time he became part of the team at MPMAG.

Mr. Lapointe has strong ties to the community especially to its youth. He is part of the organizing committee of the high school’s “gala des Mercures”.



The company employs 15 technicians. The head offices are at 517 Charbonneau in the heart of the business section of St-Jovite in the City of Mont-Tremblant. In 2003 it opened a branch office at 349 L'Annonciation Nord in the Ville de Rivière-Rouge
